Eleme Petrochemicals Company Limited (EPCL)
The Indorama Group acquired the Eleme Petrochemicals in June 2006, located in the Oil City of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, formerly a Subsidiary of Nigerian State owned Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
Presently, the company has employed around 800 staff from India, Indonesia, Romania, Venezuela, Israel, Philippines and Nigeria. Besides, around 300 Contractor Staff are engaged in various technical and service areas to assist the Operations and Maintenance teams.
EPCL has already been exporting to more than 20 countries, including France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Turkey, India, South Africa, China, Ghana, and Kenya. More than 10% of Nigeria’s Non-Oil Exports done from EPCL.
Today, EPCL is the largest Petrochemicals Complex Nigeria and one of the biggest in Africa with an investment of over USD 400 million coupled with future expansion plans for over USD 2 billion making it a strategic investment in downstream petrochemicals sector.
EPCL is looking for the following position for its Operations:
Head of Civil
The Head of Civil is a Middle Management Team Member, reporting to the Head of Engineering, who would be closely working with all Plants and Departments and supporting them in meeting out all their Civil Projects, Structural and Maintenance requirements.
He would possess excellent managerial and team skills with proven track record and experience in Civil Projects, Structural and Maintenance in Industrial environment preferably in large Petrochemicals, Polymers, Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Refineries and Fertilizer Industries.

Head of Civil
(Jawa Barat – Nigeria)


Responsibilities:

• To conceive, design and execute Civil Projects, structural and maintenance works that facilitate the uninterrupted and smooth running of plants, management of Company Estate, Office Buildings and other structures.
• To provide technical leadership to a team of Civil Engineers, Supervisors and Technicians in effectively catering to the Civil Projects, Structural and Maintenance requirements of all plants and departments.
• To be responsible for conceptual and detailed design in compliance with the project specifications, international codes and standards and good engineering practices.
• To understand the Contracts and execute the projects covering design, estimation, scheduling, procurement, monitoring, review & control and to ensure the timely completion of the projects with the stipulated budget.
• To provide key managerial and administrative support for the Civil and Structural Department and assist in activities related to manpower / equipment / machinery resources, organization development, preparation new standards and procedures.
• To prepare and approve construction drawings and shop drawings and ensure the execution of work as per drawings.
• To prepare cash flow forecast and control during all projects execution.
• To ensure that all bills are duly scrutinized and passed on timely.
• To make all MIS reports, project review reports on completion of projects.
• To ensure all statutory sanctions and approvals are obtained for all projects.
• To administer all personnel involved in projects.

Requirements:

• Should have worked as Head of Civil for the last 5 years in large organizations having handled Civil Projects, Structural and Maintenance preferably in the Manufacturing Sector.
• S1/S2 from Civil Engineering.
• Age around 40 – 50 years.
• Experience around 20 – 30 years in Civil fields.
• Excellent planning, coordination and execution abilities for timely completion of Projects, Structural and Maintenance work. Should be having exposure and experience in using Auto CAD for necessary applications.
• Abilities to augment the resources and make them available for the uninterrupted execution of planned activities.
• Ability to understand the local dynamics and lead a team of Civil Engineers in successfully meeting the requirements of Plants / departments.
• Ability to identify competent contractors, vendors and suppliers and manage them effectively for the smooth and timely completion of projects structural and maintenance jobs.
• Should have good English.
• Must be willing to be placed in Nigeria.
