Global Operations and Infrastructure (GOI) designs, builds and operates BP’s core IT&S services. It is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the technology people rely on every day to do their job such as computers, telephones, email, wireless, conferencing; helpdesk support for end-users of services; and the design, build and operation of BP’s IT&S infrastructure and systems, such as data centers and networks.
GOI Service Integration Asia Pacific provides services & support to all businesses located in 16 countries namely Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, India, Sakhalin, Australia, New Zealand and South West Pacific.
The purpose of this job is to provide technical support for UNIX, Linux and Database administration across all sites in Indonesia. This also includes operation of storage and backup system and working with several Vendors/System Integrators to ensure services are delivered according to the agreed Service Level Agreement. The analyst will report into the Services Manager, Indonesia.
Key accountabilities • Accountable to the Service Manager, Indonesia for the operation of the Unix and Linux platforms including G&G systems complaint to standards in a secured and safe manner.
• Responsible for all Unix & Linux related changes and that these changes are supported by the Change Management process.
• Operate the Unix & Linux in compliance with regulatory and company operating requirements (e.g. Sox).
• Ensure that all Unix & Linux platforms are backed up and recoverable as part of business continuity.
• Work with external parties such as vendors to ensure end-to-end service delivery.
• Work with respective project teams to ensure that Unix & Linux services are delivered in support of application or infrastructure systems.
• Manage and resolve incidents, support incidents of other nature that would have a dependency on the Unix & Linux platform.
• Investigate root cause of incident as part of Problem Management, implement remediation to remove errors on the platform and ensure that knowledge base is updated and communicated to all on the remediation of problem tickets.
• Track and report incidents and capacity management on a monthly basis.
• Manage storage and backup hardware and software and its operation.
• Support back office team to operate storage and backup system.
• Escalate storage and backup problem to principal/system integrator to make sure all incidents are handled according to the agreed service level agreement.
• Daily administration of the Oracle database system in Indonesia.
• Ensures that database security access is controlled and compliant with SoX requirements.
• Ensures database backup is current, restoration tested.
• Ensures database tables, logs are consistent, all repairs to database is done in accordance with incident and change control procedures.
• Ensures that adequate database support from supplier is in place through maintenance support and licensing agreement meeting business service level agreements.
• Works with team to ensure that adequate infrastructure is in place to provide operational readiness to the database system.
Essential Education • Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Information Technology.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Unix & Linux operations.
• Demonstrate abilities and experience to administer Unix and Linux operating systems.
• Demonstrate experience with clustering technology in Unix & Linux.
• Experience with Solaris operating system.
• Experience with Linux Enterprise-3 operating system.
• Experience with G&G application systems.
• ITIL Foundation V3 certified.
• Ability to manage time and work independently requiring little supervision.
• Team player and able to work effectively in a team.
• Proven ability to architect Unix & Linux systems.
• Oracle Database Administrator certified.
• Minimum 3 years working experience in database administration.
Desirable criteria & qualifications • Experience using remedy incident and change management system.
• Experience in Perl and Unix shell scripting.
• Microsoft back office system administration.
• NetApp system administration.
• Experience with Exploration and Production business environment.
• Project Management experience and/or certification.
